Learning and development in Adult Social Care
We are highly supportive of ongoing learning and making our current offer better, as mentioned on the ‘About Adult Social Care’ page; we are at a very exciting time of change. For learning and development this means reviewing our current training programmes, career pathways and importantly our development promise, focusing on rewarding those with great performance.
You’ll receive regular 1-2-1 supervision focused upon moving forward, reflection, resilience and support. We ensure you always have direct support and assistance from colleagues and managers when you need it.
Induction & ongoing training
We recognise induction is the start of your journey and is vital to your success. Our induction programme caters for all new members of Adult Social Care. Our training plans focus on the core skills and knowledge required for undertaking your role and we have additional support and training available for newly qualified social workers.
Principal social worker
A new and developing role dedicated to ensuring quality training and development for all of the Adult Social Care Team. We recognise how valuable your development is to you and us, so as a priority, the Principal Social Worker is currently reviewing creating clearer Career pathways, so you can be assured on your development needs and opportunities.
At Gloucestershire County Council, we have endorsed this programme, which offers support and reviews, specifically for newly qualified social worker’s. This is because we recognise that having a strong foundation in your first year of practise is exceptionally important for your future.
